Calvin C. Bryant
Calvin C. Bryant, age 93, of Rock Falls, died Sunday, September 26, 2021 at his home.
Calvin was born October 1, 1927 in Warren, Ark. the son of Hubert and Grace (Castleberry) Bryant. He served in the US Army during the Korean War and married Margie Williams on January 21, 1956 in Rock Falls. She preceded him in death on November 26, 2013. Calvin was employed at Parish Alfred in Rock Falls for 40 years and later managed the Super Wash for 20 years.
He is survived by one daughter, Virginia Glisson of Tullahoma, Tenn.; three sons, Billy, Sr. (Sunday) Bryant of Brownsburg, Ind., Marty (Alice) Bryant of Montgomery, Texas, and Jeffrey, Sr. (Tammy) Bryant of Amboy; three sisters, Willie Jane Bryant of Arlington, Texas, Wanda "Tiny" Proctor of Greenbrier, Ark. and Barbara "Tody" (Gene) Neely of Greenbrier, Ark.; two brothers, Kenneth Bryant of Rock Falls and Bernard (Marian) Bryant of Greenbrier, Ark.; 12 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; and 4 great great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; and one son, Cecil Bryant; one sister, Ida Bell Price; two brothers, William Andrew Bryant and Travis Bryant; and one grandson, Kevin Bryant.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 1, 2021 from 10:00 – 11:00 AM at Abiding Word Church in Sterling followed by the funeral at 11:00 AM with Pastor Scott Porter officiating. Burial with military honors will be at Oak Knoll Memorial Park in Sterling.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to the Amboy Volunteer Fireman's Association.
