Bruce Dennis O'Neal, 62 of Rock Falls, died Tuesday, March 29, 2022.

Bruce was born on January 26, 1960 in Sterling, the son of David and Shirley (Bennett) O'Neal. He attended Montmorency where he was a standout track and basketball athlete. After school, he enlisted in the United States Navy as a Sea Bee. Bruce was employed by Elevator Construction for many years until retirement. He married Cheryl L. Beckman on October 15, 2010. She preceded him in death on November 29, 2011. Bruce was a NASCAR and Harley fan. He enjoyed riding his motorcycles, bowling, going boating, and fishing, especially cat fishing. Bruce was a friend to so many, who had the biggest heart and was always lending a hand to help anyone in need. He was quick witted and had a great sense of humor.

Survivors include his mother, Shirley O'Neal of Rock Falls; his significant other, Shelley Rieselman of Rock Falls; his children, Bryan O'Neal of Rock Falls and Jaime Carlson of Loves Park, IL; his brother, Paul (Christy) O'Neal of Lone Rock, WI; seven grandchildren, Ryley, Payton, Dylan, Brady, Breanna, Kaitlin, and Dylan; two great grandsons, Zander and Ka'Marion; two nephews, Jason and Justin O'Neal; one niece, Amber Eng; and special friend, Bob Anderson

He was preceded in death by his father, David "Sonny" O'Neal and his wife, Cheryl.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Sunday, April 10, 2022 from 12:00-3:00 P.M. at the McDonald Funeral Home in Rock Falls. A memorial service will follow at 3:00 P.M. at the funeral home with Pastor Dalmus Meeks officiating.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial is established in his memory.
