ROCK FALLS - Betty June (Knepp) Dunavin, age 72, died at her home in Rock Falls, Saturday, July 22, 2017, following an extended illness.

Betty was born in Princeton, Illinois June 12, 1945, the daughter of George Ross "Buster" Knepp and Gladys Lucille (Rauh) Knepp. She attended Princeton schools and graduated from Princeton High School in 1963 and worked for the Bureau County Republican until her marriage to Timothy Edward Dunavin on November 1, 1964.

As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she served for many years in the Primary organization as a Teacher, President and Nursery Leader. Her love for the little children was an important part of her life. She devoted her life caring for her family.

She is survived by her loving husband, Tim, of Rock Falls, two daughters, Amy (Eric) Albach, of Orem, UT, and Anna Dunavin of Arlington, MA, and one son, Joseph (Rondee) Dunavin, Menasha, WI, three grandsons, Hayden, Gabriel, and Isaac Dunavin, an aunt, Margaret Rauh, a niece, nephew, and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Elisabeth, two brothers, Dennis and Everett, and two nephews.

Visitation will be from 5:00 – 7:00 PM Wednesday, July 26, 2017 at the McDonald Funeral Home, Rock Falls. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Thursday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Sterling with Brother Matthew Howze officiating. Burial will follow at 2:30 PM at Elm Lawn Cemetery in Princeton.

A memorial has been established.
