Betty G. Arians, 86 of Sterling died Thursday November 8, 2018 at Rock River Hospice and Home.

She was born on September 8, 1932 in Fulton, IL the daughter of Duke and Reka (Sissing) Boerema. She married Marvin G. Arians on September 12, 1952 in Morrison. Betty worked as a receptionist/secretary at the former Arians Century 21 Realty in Sterling for several years. She was a member of New Life Lutheran Church in Sterling and had enjoyed playing the accordion.

Survivors include her husband, Marvin; her daughter Marla Esnard of Sterling; her sons: Mark (Patty) Arians and Mel (Dawn) Arians both of Sterling; four grandchildren: Alan (Morgan) Arians, Chad (Melissa) Arians, Ryan Arians and Maren Esnard; four great grandchildren: Jesse Arians, Bradyn Arians, Mia Arians and Marcoree Penwarden-Shuman.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Jack Boerema.

Visitation will be held on Monday November 12, 2018 from 9 – 10:30 AM at New Life Lutheran Church in Sterling. The funeral will follow at 10:30 AM at the church. Burial will conclude at Oak Knoll Memorial Park in Sterling. Arrangements completed by the McDonald Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established.
