Barbara Ann Froeter, age 85 passed away on Monday, July 24, 2017 in Sterling, Illinois. Barb was born in Manlius, Illinois on June 19, 1932, daughter of the late Ray and Florence Kuepker. She lived on a farm with her three sisters and brother before leaving the area to be a flight attendant for Capital Airlines. She returned to marry and raise a family. Barb was a consummate mother and homemaker, adventurer and world traveler, artist and voracious reader. Anyone who ever met Barb knew she was kind and selfless. She had a gift for giving in the true sense of the word: the giving of self.
Barb was preceded in death by her sister, Marion (Bob) Jacobs; and survived by her sisters, Nancy (Lee) Eilers; Pam (Jeff) Gray and brother, Ron (Linda) Kuepker. Barb is also survived by four sons Kevin (Jean) Froeter; Craig (Jill) Froeter; Chris (Julie) Froeter; and Todd Froeter; grandchildren: Carrie (Jim) Groth; Jenny Froeter; Becky (Joel) Mathis; Katy Froeter; Paul Froeter; Erin Froeter; David (Ali) Haenni; Jared Haenni; Alex Froeter; Joe Froeter; and Ruby Froeter; and great-grandchildren: Jackson Groth, Emme Groth, Easton Groth, Lucy Mathis; Aubri Menchaca; Brian Haenni; and Donny Haenni.
We wish to invite everyone to join us to share in a life that touched so many people. A celebration of Barb's life is planned for Saturday, August 5, 2017 at Smoked on 3rd, at 14 East 3rd Street in Sterling, from noon to 3pm. We also want to thank the caring staffs of Rock River Valley Hospice and the Parkway Center for making our mother's final weeks a dignified and graceful experience.
