Arthur (Leon) Gillihan, 75 of Rock Falls, IL passed away peacefully Friday, April 27, 2018 at Loyola University Hospital in Maywood surrounded by his family who loved him very much.
Leon was born December 31, 1942 in Gorby, AR to Alex and Dora (Smith) Gillihan. He married his high school sweet heart, Lena Sherrill on July 2, 1960.

He worked for Northwestern Steel & Wire from 1963 until his retirement in 1999 finishing his career as President of United Steel Workers Local 63 from 1993 until 1999.
He was a member of Rock River Christian Center. His peace and strength came from his personal relationship with Jesus.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 6 brothers and 2 sisters.
He is survived by his wife Lena Gillihan of Rock Falls; two daughters, Sherry Gillihan of Winnebago, IL, Angela (Roger) Ausbury of Battle Creek, Mich. two sons, Scott (Michelle) Gillihan of Sterling, IL, and Jeff (Tina) Gillihan of Midland, TX, one brother, Harold Gillihan of Mountian Home, AR, twelve grandchildren, and six great grandchildren.
