Amelia "Amy" Luptak, 103 of Sterling died Saturday April 25, 2015 at Parkway Center in Sterling.

She was born on February 23, 1912 in Chicago, the daughter of John and Suzanna (Filipa) Siakel Sr. She married Joseph Luptak on October 28, 1939. He preceded her in death on April 29, 1996. Amy was a member of Messiah Evangelical Lutheran Church and very active as a volunteer at CLS Thrift Store in Rock Falls up until last year. In the past she had enjoyed crocheting and quilting. Amy was very proud of sharing a part in her being a six generation family.
Survivors include her daughter, Janet (Keith) Cassens of Sterling; her son, Richard (Pam) Luptak of Sterling; 4 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren and 1 great-great-great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother John Siakel Jr and her sister Marge Ortinau.

A visitation will take place on Wednesday April 29, 2015 from 10 – 11 Am at Messiah Evangelical Lutheran Church in Sterling. The funeral services will follow in the church at 11 AM with the Reverend David Burge officiating. Burial will conclude at Oak Knoll Memorial Park. Arrangements by McDonald Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Christ Lutheran School in Sterling or to the radio program of Messiah Evangelical Lutheran Church.
