Alice M. (DeMay) Hansen
Alice M. (DeMay) Hansen, age 80, of Prophetstown, died Thursday, June 28, 2018 at her home.
Alice was born August 6, 1937 in Annawan, IL the daughter of Pete and Louise (Specht) DeMay. She married David F. Hansen on August 25, 1955 in Hernando, Miss. He preceded her in death on November 6, 2014. Dave and Alice owned and operated Dave's Service Station in Prophetstown for which Alice did the bookwork from 1966-2017. She was educated in the Annawan school system and enjoyed gardening, canning, crocheting and crafts when her hands and eyesight would cooperate. If she liked you, you knew it because she would give you the shirt off her back, if she thought you needed it more. She said what she meant and meant what she said.
Survivors include two sons, Terry (Ally Johnson) Hansen and Daniel (Mary Rohlik) Hansen both of Prophetstown; one brother, George (Berneice) DeMay of Kewanee; two sisters, Catherine (Ronald) Vincent of Kewanee and Theresa (Michael) Echelberger of Springfield, Ohio; four grandchildren; and one great granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; one sister, Dorothy Wolf; and three brothers, Raymond, Francis and Paul DeMay.
Graveside services will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.
