Aaron Junior Stevens, 78 of Rock Falls died Saturday August 13, 2016 at his home.

He was born on February 5, 1938 in Karnack, IL the son of Marion and Cora (Dunn) Stevens. He married LaDona "Jean" (Akridge) Taylor on October 24, 1970 in Rock Falls. He was employed as an equipment operator thru Union Local 196 for 35 years retiring January 1, 2001. He had been a member of the First Southern Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing, mowing, camping, operating heavy equipment. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren and the coffee with his friends.

Survivors include his wife, Jean; two daughters: Mary Ellen (Jim) Simons of Olive Branch, IL and Theresa (Mark) Glass of Salem, OR; sons: Garry (Jan) Stevens of Dallas, TX, Larry (Susan) Stevens of Denton, TX, Terry (Dawn) Stevens of Mount Morris, IL, Mike (Jodi) Taylor of Cobb, CA, Mark (Linda) Taylor of Dixon, IL, Eugene Taylor (Jose) of Rock Island, IL and Kevin (Jody) Steinberg of Rock Falls; his sisters: Erma Story of Metropolis, IL, Barbara (C.C.) Foster of Gorville, IL and Alberta Stevens of Park Ridge, IL and Pat (Ed) Warner of Little Rock , AR; his brother Marion Stevens of Olive Branch, IL; 26 grandchildren and over 30 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his step mother; two brothers: Billy and Wesley; and four sisters: Minnie, Thelma, Linda and Mary.
