Condolence & Memory Journal

Herman and I send our condolences and prayers to all of the Reed family. We have been old time neighbors for many years. Herman and I recently moved to Luther Manor in Dubuque Iowa which is closer to our families and a nicer place than the Rock Falls nursing home. We have had family members cleaning out over 50 years of accumulated stuff from our house on Arland Street and the house will be sold. You can be glad that your Dad did not have to spend time in a nursing home.

I have a lot of fond childhood memories of Mr. & Mrs. Reed and the entire family, too many to mention. I don't think my family could have had better neighbors...about 45 years I believe. We were lucky, my dad was really lucky having his best and oldest buddy right across the street for all these years. In my current hometown it is hard to create that bond with your neighbors, people are not as they were many years ago, it has made me appreciate my childhood and the friendships I had. I send my deepest condolences to Randy, Connie and Kenny I wish I could be there today. My heart is heavy, I will carry the memories with me forever.

Kenny, Connie and Randy, please accept my deepest condolence. I have great memories of your dad and his EBY Brown truck. I loved it when he had "damaged" goods AKA candy bars, he had to get rid of. Many other great memories involving your family: spending the nights in your camper, swimming in your pool, the dirt bike track that we spent many many hours on. He helped make life on Charles street very fun and memorable. Thank you!!! He has been a great neighbor to my mom and I know she will miss him. I wish I could be there to give you all a hug in person, but this will have to do.
with deepest sympathy
Sue Conklen Knowles.
