Tribute & Message From The Family

Viola "Tootie" M. Camp, 88 of Sterling, joined her beloved husband in Heaven on October 9, 2019.

Viola was born November 10, 1930 in Alsey, IL, the daughter of Harold P. and Stella (Lawson) Daniel. She was wed to Lloyd "Corky" M. Camp on June 6, 1952. He preceded her in death on September 12, 2005. Viola volunteered at Wallace School for Patti and Mark. She was a member of neighborhood watch. She was a great cook, she made the best fried chicken and roast beef, and memories of Fourth of July when she made the best Burgoo. After the children were grown, she began walking everywhere and made many friends. She loved gardening and enjoyed sharing what she grew. She was an avid reader and loved her Kindle. She loved to make beaded bracelets and loved giving them to anyone she met. She never met a stranger. Viola enjoyed her outings with her dear friend, Jean Thome and sitting outside with her friend and neighbor, Viola Cruz.

She will be sorely missed by her family, her four children, Vicki (Jim) Neubauer, Sharon Schuldt, Patti (Barry) Wiemken and Mark (Diane) Camp; her brother, Dean (Kay) Daniel; seven grandchildren, Sheila (David) Carter, Tim (Cassie) Wiemken, Stacey (Damen) Kuehl, Eric Neubauer, Jim Schuldt, Michael (Monica) Camp and Loreal Camp; eight great grandchildren, Hannah, Matthew and Grace Carter, August and Delaney Kuehl, Alex and Nicki Schuldt and Indigo Wiemken.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Corky; son-in-law, Ken Schuldt; granddaughter, Tina Wiemken; and great grandson, David Carter, Jr.

Visitation will be Sunday, October 13, 2019 from 3:00-5:00 P.M. at the McDonald Funeral Home in Rock Falls. Funeral service will be Monday, October 14, 2019 at 10:00 A.M. at the funeral home with Pastor John Kermot officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Knoll Memorial Park in Sterling.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Sauk Valley Friends of Ferals and The Amos Fund.

We will celebrate her life with kindness as she taught us.

It saddened me to see of Tootie's passing. I so enjoyed when she would come to see me at the Clinic. She always brightened my day with her smile and laughter. Always had some candy and stories to tell. Hugs and prayers for her family!
