Harry Nathaniel Trotter
Harry Nathaniel Trotter, 61, of Rock Falls, died Friday, July 26, 2019 at the Iowa City VA Hospital.
Harry, affectionately known as Harry-O or Grandpa, was born September 14, 1957 in Chicago the son of Winston Trotter and Lillie (Knox) Trotter. He served in the US Marines from 1976 – 1978 and later married Verda Johnson-Trotter. Harry spent his career and his life helping others as a social worker.
Survivors include his wife of Rock Falls; one son DeShawn (Christal) Johnson of Peoria; two sisters, Audrey (Gerald) Townsend of County Club Hills and Rowena (Harold) France of Markham; two brothers, Tyrone (Paula) Trotter of Phoenix and Cortez (Wendy) Trotter of Chicago; and five grandchildren, Andrew, Alexis, Jervias, Jamal and Christion.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Pierre Trotter.
Memorial services will be Saturday, August 3, 2019 at Noon at the Salvation Army in Sterling and Monday, August 5, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Second Baptist Church in Harvey.
Private inurnment will be at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elmwood at a later date.
A memorial has been established.

Harry was loved by many. I thank God for allowing him to be a part of the Johnson's family as he was a brother, uncle, friend, and role model to many. His life was cherished by everyone he encountered. We will continue to pray for Gods strength during this difficult time. We love you all and are here for you.

To The Trotter Family, so sorry to here that Harry has passed. May he rest in eternal peace. I grew up in Harvey Darlene Roberson and had the honor of having the friendship of Harry and his family. We had a lot of fun times growing up in Harvey, IL. We had the best of times in High School. I have not seen any of you all in years but the memories are always there. A good man and forever friend.
