Condolence & Memory Journal

I met Tony well over 30 years ago when he was officiating a wrestling mat at Belvidere. Through the years Tony officiated many of our matches. He was an honest, warm and happy guy. He always made things fun. I always enjoyed seeing him. He was a wonderful man who impacted many, many young people, including me. We will sorely miss him. Condolences to his family members.

I met Tony during my first year of teaching. (Rock Falls High School) He encouraged me to become a wrestling official. I have been officiating for 44 years now and his direction impacted my entire career. What I learned from Tony, I try to pass on to the young up and coming officials. He was a great man!! Condolences to his family.

Tony was a very important part of the RFHS staff/community. After he retired he always kept himself busy. As a neighbor, I would find him, surprisingly, sitting on a bench in the back corner of my yard: just sitting and watching until he surprised me. He had that knack of just 'being there' without being overly noticed.
Both my wife and I pray for his family at this time of sorrow. But we know that he has moved on to a better place.
