We became to know Ron on his visits to a friend in our area. What a nice fellow and a kind spirit. Before long Ron found out we were avid Penn State fans who of course get to play his beloved Iowa Hawkeyes.Just as luck would have it,the Lions were fortunate to beat the Hawks on very last minute type plays.Needless to say Ron was not the happiest Iowa fan .However,he would accept the fact the Lions had won even if according to Ron were the luckiest team in America.A fine sport and a friend we will miss.

Condolences to the family. Ron was my SVCC advisor in 1967 and we remained friends for decades. He will be missed. Such a talented man who gave back to the community ten fold. May he RIP

Shortly after I was discharged from the Navy in 1967, a friend and I were considering going to a data processing school in the Quad Cities. We met Ron at a party that winter and he said SVC had a data processing program and talked us into going. We started school there the next semester. I owe my career as a software engineer to Ron.

I grew up with Ron (and Shirley), as my Aunt and Uncle. They were close to both my Dad (Charlie), and my mom (Mickey). There's so many stories, and many of them funny. Ok, most are funny. I remember the trips up to Northern Wisconsin, or the odd coincidence of Ron showing up in Biloxi Mississippi when I finished up US Air Force Tech School, and being the first family I saw since I left. Oddly enough, similar enough to when i went off to college, and he was in town. When my old man had his strokes, and his eventual passing, Ron was someone I could reach out to.

I also know how he would do what he can for anyone that walked into his office out at Sauk Valley Community College. Veteran, Single Mom, didn't matter. He knew Financial Aid better than anyone, and used that knowledge to help people.

We have known Ron since our time at Sauk Valley College in 1967. Ron was a good person. He will be missed by all who knew him. Rest in Peace, dear friend.

Ron and I were among those who helped found Sauk Valley College and were part of its first faculty/staff in 1966. After 53 years we could look back with pride at the thousands of students for whom Sauk provided a higher education. It was a pleasure to have had Ron as a colleague and friend for over half a century. After a job well done... Rest In Peace, Ron.
