Condolence & Memory Journal

I was one of Charles's caregivers with his group home in Rockford. He is very missed. He had such kindness and zest for life. He loved his training and work center and would bound out of his room to prepare and shower for the beginning of his day there, always happy to be told how handsome he looked as he got ready and out to start his day--always making sure he had his hair combed just right and insisting on a bit of hair gel to make sure he was pleased with his appearance. He loved his room and all of his treasures and television. During good weather he would ride "his" bike all around the 1/4 mile track behind our group home, smiling for lap after lap on that track. It was sometimes hard to get him in after he began his bike rides, he didn't want to stop because he loved the sunshine, movement, and nature around him as he rode. Again, my deepest sympathy to his family and friends. Charles will always remain in my memory warmly.
