Dear Aunt Joan, Mary, Patty, Bill, Nancy and Julie,

Uncle Bill will certainly leave a huge void in the Poerstel family tree. I will miss his wry sense of humor, his quick wit and loving persona. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who had the honor of knowing him. Our thoughts and prayers are with you work through your own personal greiving process.

Bill was a great boss and mentor during the many years I worked with him in ORD. He was very creative in tackling new issues while establishing processes for years to come. I learned a lot from Bill who was very caring of his employees even though he seldom showed it, He was instrumental in my career development and I learned he also hired Sue, which enabled me to meet and marry her! I'm sure the family is very proud of their father.

Uncle Bill was the patriarch of the Poerstel family as I knew it. He lived far away from my father Jack but visits with him closed any gaps, as if none existed, ever. I loved that. My family moved away too. It was comforting to know no matter how far apart some family may be, distance could never separate the love between us.
My thoughts and prayers are with my dear Aunt Joan and her wonderful children, truly a testament

Dear Joan: It was with a feeling of sadness that we read of Bill's passing. It brought back fond memories of our girls participating in softball and basketball games, in-home Masses from St. Hubert's and all the exciting times of raising a family in a new and vibrant growing suburb. Barbara and I extend to you and your family our sincerest condolences. Barbara & John Mallon

Uncle Bil was the kindest man and semi-father to my father. I wish his family all my love and support at this time and wish I could be with you to honor such a great man.

I will always have very fond memories of "Pops" Poerstel. A very intelligent man with a very dry, sarcastic sense of humor, and a big heart! In spending a lot of my teenage years around him, I was the recipient of a great deal of that sarcasm! I will always appreciate the words of wisdom that he passed on over those years. A great man who lived a great life! God bless.

Uncle Bill was such a great guy.I loved when you all came to town and we got to visit. He didn't talk alot, or did he never get the chance with so many sisters, etc around. ha ha
He has no more pain or suffering now.
