Edward E. Cushing Obituary

Edward E. Cushing, 83, of Rock Falls died Wednesday evening, April 5, 2017 at home.

He was born January 8, 1933 in Dixon the son of Maurice E. and Margaret M. (Byers) Cushing.

He married Jean L. Rippy on December 21, 1951 in Dixon.

He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict. Ed worked at Northwestern Steel and Wire Company for many years until his retirement in 1993.

He is survived by his wife Jean; two daughters Nelda (Scott) Hubbard and Debra Cushing; a son Perry Cushing; 9 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren; a sister, Mary Louise; He was preceded in death by a son Terry Cushing and his parents.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A gathering of family and friends will be on Sunday from 1-2 PM with military honors at 2 PM at McDonald Funeral Home 505 1st Avenue in Sterling. A memorial has been established in his memory.
